Don’t worry. Nothing to do with Brexit! This is the local Lincoln football revolution.

Scott Russell, Sportslinc’s Under 18s manager and revolutionary-in-chief explains:

“It’s been a waiting game for the Nettleham Under 18s coaches to finally see a ball being kicked in anger.

“But with a good turn out and more players due to come along who couldn’t make our first training session, early signs are that the club is moving forward in the right direction.

“The most pleasing thing is that we did not approach any player. They just came along off their own backs and that says much about the their character.

” It was a typical trial session with the main objective to let the lads just play their own game.

“They were all a little bit coy at first but then they started to relax and did the thing we wanted to see: they started playing with a smile on their face.

“Two Lincolnshire FA Coaching U18s scouts were casting an eye on them and new first team coach Mick Fairweather came along to show his support and talked about the pathway to his men’s team.

“The next training session is next Sunday morning between 10.00 am -midday on West Common when we will be looking to shape the squad ready for pre-season.”
