The Lincolnshire Bombers Roller Girls took to the track for the final time this season when they travelled to Peterborough to take on Suffolk Roller Derby at the weekend.
Peterborough went into half time with a 62-53 points lead despite the best efforts of the Lincolnshire outfit to end the campaign with a win.
Things improved after the break when the Bruisers picked up points in a couple of timely power jams.
In what turned out to be a close-fought match it was Suffolk who took the honours with a 136-132 victory after a lead charge in the very last jam.
Lincolnshire Bombers captain Christy ‘Razzo’ Robinson said: “It was an end to the season the girls should be proud of.
“Each and every skater gave everything and we all worked hard as a team.
“We have ended the season on a real positive taking some great team wins from the game.”
Brandon ‘Papa Grande’ Eby, Lincoln’s coach reflected on the game. She said:”Everything was left on that track.
“I could see all the hard work and training being used out there.
“I am proud of each and everyone of my Bombers and I can’t wait to see what comes next.”
