Two wins and two defeats for our teams over the weekend in the Lincolnshire ECB Premier Division.
Hartsholme 1st team visited Bartown Town and batted first. They made 135 all out thanks mainly to opener and wicketkeeper Matthew Wooldridge hitting 66 backed up by captain Edward Bosworth’s 29.
In reply the hosts hit 136-8 despite the best efforts of Hartsholme’s Craig Elliot ( four for 37) and Rob Torpe (three for 36).
Better news at Bracebridge Heath where the second eleven amassed 217 runs thanks to solid contributions from McDowall (G), Watson, McDowall (A), Silva, Scott and Mansford.
In reply opponents Holton-le Clay scored 174 runs after Carl Watton took a very impressive six wickets for 49.
Cherry Willingham travelled to Scunthorpe to take on Outcasts in an exciting game which saw Cherry take 18 points in a game where Matt O’Halloran hit 52 and Will Carter took three for 43.
Finally Scothern 1st team suffered a crushing defeat at home to Alford and District 1st x1. The hosts lost by 83 runs in a performance they would rather forget.
Despite that defeat, Scothern remain top dogs in the league with a one point lead over Messingham though having played a game more than most of their rivals.
Cherry Willingham sit third in the table on 107 points only four points behind second-placed Messingham.
Bracebridge Heath are on a good run and have moved up to sixth place only 20 points adrift of the leaders but with that crucial game in hand.
