CRICKET: BRACEBRIDGE AND HARTSHOLME THROUGH TO SEMIS

Bank Holiday Monday turned out to be a glorious day for two of our local cricket teams who progressed to the semi-finals of the George Marshall trophy.

Bracebridge Heath 2nd x1 beat Scunthorpe 1st x1 by two wickets thanks to some fine batting from Ryan Watson (50) and Steven Scott (39) and some excellent bowling from P.Cook who ended up with figures of four for 16.

Meanwhile Hartsholme 1st x1 thrashed Louth 2nds by 66 runs. A magnificent 127 not out from wicketkeeper Craig Elliot helped the Lincoln outfit reach 233 for four.

In reply Louth could muster only 167 for 9 thanks to some tidy bowling from Steven Wilkinson who took three for 36.
