Lincoln United full back Jordan Lemon has moved to AFC Stamford and relishes the chance to play in a higher league.
After an outstanding season as an attacking full back Lemon was named in the Evo-Stik Division One (South) League team in April.
The young defender said: “I just felt I needed a new challenge.
“We had a great season last year after reaching the play-offs but I feel I had more to give and maybe I wouldn’t have pushed myself next season if I had stayed at Lincoln as I was in a comfort zone.
“Stamford looks an amazing club with aspirations which meet mine such as wanting to play Conference North football.
“I see the move as a fresh start and a chance to show a higher league why I was voted the best right back in the league.
“I want to now push on and get the same achievement but in the Northern Premier League.
“Playing against better players will always help any footballer so by doing this I can pick faults with my play and look to improve on them.”
Former Whites boss, Dave Frecklington, now at Spalding United said : “Jordan has been outstanding all season.
“He is a real live-wire and gives everything he’s got.”
