Cherry Willingham skipper Will Carter hammered Barton Town’s bowling and batting attack at the weekend as his team secured 20 points in their 10 wicket victory in the Lincolnshire League Premier Division.
Carter tore into the opponent’s batsmen and grabbed five wickets for only 15 runs before plundering 67 not out in his side’s 135 for two.
Phil Nicholson took three wickets and Craig Cosgrove hit 56 not out.
Meanwhile Bracebridge Heath seconds amassed a total of 215 giving them victory over Alford and District by 112 runs.
Opener Ryan Watson made 56 not out and was ably assisted by Himesh Silva who hit 74 and went on to take six wickets for 29.
It was an excellent day for our local cricket sides as Hartsholme gained a hard-fought victory over Holton-Le -Clay by 18 runs.
Hartsholme batted first and made 199 from their 50 overs thanks to decent knocks from Jason Roberts (57 n.o.), wicket keeper Matthew Wooldridge (32) and Josh Pickersgill (54).
Finally Scothern hosted Caistor who could only muster 72 all out after excellent bowling from Drabble, McGovern and Brown who took three wickets apiece.
The home team made 73 for 4 and snatched 20 points from their six wicket win.
In the Lincolnshire League Premier Division table Scothern sit top on 88 points though local rivals Cherry Willingham are only three points behind with a game in hand.
