A 91st minute equaliser from Belper’s Bradley Wells enabled his team to share the spoils with Lincoln United at the Sun-hat Villas stadium this afternoon.
The home side dominated a first half which saw a Gary King header give Lincoln a well-deserved lead.
After the break the Ashby Avenue outfit hit the woodwork twice and continued to pile on the pressure but a quick break by the visitors gave them an unexpected equaliser through Jack O’Brian.
In the 80th minute Rob Norris fired Lincoln into the lead with a 35 yard free kick which deceived the Belper defence to nestle into the far corner of the net.
However Belper broke down the right wing in time added-on and Wells hit a screamer beyond the clutches of Walton in the Lincoln goal to make the final score 2-2.
The point keeps Dave Frecklington’s men in the play-off positions though Tuesday’s home game against promotion rivals Basford now takes on even more significance.
