A six-wicket victory for Cherry Willingham over Holton-Le-Clay was the only bright spot in an otherwise disappointing weekend for our local teams in the Premier Division.
A fine knock of 64 from Will Carter backed up by Phil Nicholson’s 5 for 23 secured Cherry 20 points from the win.
In a low-scoring match Scunthorpe batted first against Hartsholme and managed only 62 runs. However in reply Hartsholme could muster a mere total of 30 and thus lost the match by 32 runs.
In other games, Bracebridge Heath lost to Market Rasen and Scothern suffered their first defeat of the season after they were hammered by Messingham.
Despite that result, Scothern remain top of the table with 68 points although Messingham sit just one point behind with a game in hand.
