The Gainsborough Park Run course must be one of the toughest in the country yet it today provided one runner with a moment of glory.
Sue took up running six months ago and this morning managed to complete the course without stopping.
That is the first time she has achieved this distance non-stop. What’s more the course was suited to cross-country more than park running and Sue found herself achieving her goal in an event she last attempted more than 50 years’ ago at school.
What’s more, she came first in her age group.
The moral of the story is that if you train hard, decide to put mind over matter and step out of your comfort zone, you can achieve more than you ever thought possible.
