Here is what Whites’ boss, Big Sam Wilkinson had to say about his team’s 1-0 defeat to Market Drayton town FC at the Sun Hat Villas stadium yesterday.

He said: “I am massively disappointed, especially the way we played in the first half when we played really well and created a lot of chances.

Ultimately, that cost us the game as we missed chance after chance.

In the second half I thought we were terrible at times. We didn’t show any quality and tossed possession back to them time after time.

Ultimately, we got caught on the break.

We need to put chances away.

We played loads better in the first half and, had we scored, we would have won comfortably.

However, as well as we played before the break, you can’t miss chances like we did. It’s criminal.

We missed chances from three and six yards three or four times.

No-one can coach how to finish. You have just got to stick them away. It’s as simple as that.

There was no real quality from the players who supposedly have quality but we haven’t seen it this year.

We just have to keep going and work hard.”
