THE THOUGHTS OF BIG SAM AFTER THE 1-1 DRAW AT BELPER TOWN

Here is what Whites’ boss, Big Sam Wilkinson thought about his team’s 1-1 draw at Belper Town FC on Saturday in the Evo-Stik Divison One (South) game.

We were disappointed with the outcome and I didn’t think we were as good as we were on Tuesday.

Having said that, I thought we were the better side in the second half although we really didn’t test their keeper enough.

They could have actually gone on to win the match but for Jake Turner’s great save near the end.

I didn’t think we were at it at all in the first 20 minutes.

Perhaps we thought it was going to be an easier game than it was going to be which disappoints me because we told the lads it was going to be a tough game.

After all, there are no easy games in the League.

However our reaction was good after the first 20 minutes and we scored a really good goal.

In fact the times when we did get it down and pass we looked alright.

In the second half I thought we had too many touches in and around the box but at least we came away with something.

A point away from home is a good result, it’s just that we wanted more.

Hopefully we can win on Monday and come away with the points which will give us four points from two games which is acceptable.”
