Lincoln United suffered a surprise 3-2 loss at lower league Rainworth Miners Welfare with a performance which left boss Sam Wilkinson slightly bemused.
He said: “The first half was dreadful. We were ok for the first five minutes and perhaps we thought it would be too easy after that.
“We then let in some shocking goals. There were not enough people talking and not enough people prepared to take responsibility.
“Hopefully this will be a wake-up call for us.
“Our first half performance was nowhere near acceptable and was probably the worst display I’ve seen since I became manager.
“Hopefully we will look back on this game and put things right.
“Credit must go to Rainworth who played some really good football at times but we did make it easy for them. They defended their lead well.
“The best thing we can do now is to move on quickly.
“I hope this has been a kick up the backside for the lads.
“It’s a setback but I am confident we can react in the right way at Goole on Saturday.”
