Local rider Amy Lacey just missed out on the top prizes after finishing in seventh place in the 80cm eventing competition at the Derby College Equestrian Centre on Sunday.
Despite two penalty points in the dressage, Amy and her horse Jasmine scored a very creditable 31.4 points.
The pair then overcame a testing course to gain a magnificent clear round in the show jumping.
The cross country course seemed to confuse Jasmine and they didn’t fare too well in what is normally their favourite phase.
Amy and Jasmine finished seventh overall out of a fields of 25 competitors, just two points away from winning a rosette.
