Aston Villa are among a number of Championship clubs reportedly weighing up a move for Lincoln City midfielder Alex Woodyard.
The 24-year-old hardly missed a match as the Imps took the National League title and famously reached the FA Cup quarter-finals.
Woodyard’s all-action displays saw him sweep the board at Lincoln’s end of season awards while he was also National League Player of the Year.
And his progress is said to have grabbed the attention of talent spotters higher up the football league pyramid, including those at Villa and Bolton Wanderers.
Born in Gravesend, Kent, Woodyard followed manager Danny Cowley from non-league side Braintree Town to Lincoln last summer.
Woodyard made 52 appearances last season in all competitions and was in the Lincoln line-up that bowed out to eventual winners Arsenal in the last eight of the FA Cup.
