Professional Basketball player Paul Sturgess is back in the county and wants to visit your school.

Paul, who has played for the Harlem Globetrotters, is working with Mark Waters from the Basketball WOW DAYS team to visit schools around the county.

A visit to a Primary School consists of an assembly which links with PSHE and includes topics such as healthy eating, the importance active lifestyle, working hard, making the most of your talents, equality and anti-bullying.

The day also includes a coaching session with the use of music, making the workshop exciting, high energy, informative, inspirational and fun.

Paul Sturgess

Paul is a professional basketball player who has played for the Harlem Globetrotters, Dallas Mavericks and most recently Cheshire Phoenix. At 7 feet 8 inches Paul is also in the Guinness Book of Records as the tallest professional basketball player in the world.

Mark Waters

Mark is a graduate of Loughborough University and a Physical Education teacher with over 20 years experience working with primary school children. In the past Mark has competed in athletics to an international level.

Since 2014 around busy professional careers Paul and Mark have been visiting Primary Schools and find visits inspire children to be more active, especially those who otherwise may not always enjoy Physical Education. A WOW day is a great way to engage children to talk about topics outlined in the PSHE curriculum.

Schools have used visits to launch a club or boost existing clubs and the feedback from WOW DAYS has been overwhelmingly positive with comments such as “the best day of our lives” and “a very inspirational day”.

To book a WOW DAY please call Mark Waters on 07958 742 248.
