Lindum Hockey Club’s Mixed Team were victorious in the quarter-final of the England Hockey Mixed Plate after a tense 2-1 win over Sunderland Broom at the University of Lincoln Sports Centre yesterday.

They now travel to Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre for the FINAL4 weekend on the 3rd and 4th of June.

Although the Lincoln outfit started the game brightly,Sunderland took the lead against the run of play with their first opportunity.

However James Dewhurst equalised on the half hour mark deflecting in a low drag flick from Louie Sadler. Lindum continued to apply pressure but the scores remained level at half-time.

The second half was much the same with Lindum peppering the Sunderland goal but finding their goalkeeper in fine form. It wasn’t until the final minute that the breakthrough came. Dewhurst was involved again, finding Jo Siddans at the back post for a simple tap in.

Potential opponents for Lindum include Repton, St Albans, and the winner of the Sevenoaks vs Wapping tie.
