Local rider Wendy Dunham riding 25-year-old Chippy gained a magnificent first place at the Elms Farm Arena Cross Country event yesterday.
After a long lay-off Chippy turned back the years to score a clear round and take the 70cm class.
Wendy said: “When we cleared that last fence we were ecstatic that he had gone clear and won at such an age.”
Wendy’s daughter, Amy competed in the 80 and 90 cm event on her horse Jasmine.
She finished a very creditable fifth place in the 80cm competition.
Instructor Emma Elliott riding Charlie secured second and third place in her events.
