Lincoln United travel to Barnsley tomorrow to face league runners-up Shaw Lane AquaForce to decide who will go through to Saturday’s Evo-Stik League Division One (South) play-off final.

The Whites finished fith in the table with a total of 74 points and no back-to-back defeats. The Ashby Avenue outfit also won 21 games and lost only 10 completing the campaign five points ahead of sixth-placed Chasetown.

Boss Dave Frecklington said:”It’s been a really enjoyable season. The spirit in the camp is tremendous and always has been. We deserved to be in fifth spot.

“Tomorrow night we have to make sure we turn up and put a shift in.

“We go there to win the game and it doesn’t matter if it is in normal time or on penalties.

“We are going to focus on what we  do best.”

Opponents Shaw Lane have withdrawn from tonight’s scheduled County Cup Final to focus on the play-off semi-final and could face disciplinary action from the football authorities.

SportsLinc will have a full report on tomorrow’s vital clash after the game.
