Just when you thought Matt Rhead and Jack Muldoon may struggle to keep going until the end of the season, in steps Jonny Margetts on loan from Scunthorpe.
I caught up with the Imps’ new striker yesterday.
He said: “It’s good to be back. The lads have welcomed me back. They are a good bunch of mates.
“Matt Rhead is brilliant to play with. When he goes up for a header you know he is going to win it.
“He brings a lot of panic when the ball is getting crossed in.
“They pay that much attention to him you can almost sneak in unnoticed.
“We have a joke that if I did all the running he would fight everyone we play!”
Boss Danny Cowley was equally pleased to have Margetts back at Sincil Bank.
He said: “We didn’t want to lose Jonny and are delighted to have him back on a loan deal which we would like to make permanent.
“He fits the bill of the profile of players we want at this club.”
Margetts will no doubt go through a series of fitness tests but I don’t think it will be too long before we see him grace the red and white shirt of the Imps onceĀ again.
