VITAL POINT FOR GAINSBOROUGH

Gainsborough Trinity eased their relegation worries after a fighting display against Gloucester City earned them a valuable point at the Northholme yesterday.

Dave Frecklington’s first game in charge was a tense affair against mid-table Gloucester.

The hosts went ahead after 30 minutes through a Nathan Jarman penalty but Sam Avery levelled the score for the visitors in the second half.

The result leaves Trinity two points ahead of the drop zone.
