It was certainly a tough match and overall not very pretty.

But let’s put things into perspective. It has been a busy yet successful week for the Imps.

An FA Trophy win at Gateshead a week ago. An FA Cup victory over Ipswich on Tuesday. A tight encounter in the National League which produced three points to maintain the lead at the top of the table.

On reflection, not a bad week’s work.

Danny made three changes and adjusted the formation in the second half to combat the opposition’s tactics.

The pressure exerted by Dover can be looked upon as positive as the Lincoln City players didn’t panic and were able to handle everything thrown at them.

Sean Long at right back adds height to the back four and an attacking threat down the touchline. He also gives options for Bradley Wood to move into midfield.

The defence were magnificent. Waterfall and Raggett headed everything.

Habergham had his best game in a red and white shirt.

The performance takes second place after the result.

These boys have the physical and mental strength to combat the challenges facing them in the coming months.
