Sportslinc caught up with Whites’ boss Big Sam Wilkinson to find out how things were going at Lincoln United.
Q1. Sam, you have lost the last four games. What’s gone wrong?
A1. “It’s not easy to put your finger on that.
“We lost our last game (6-0 v Shaw Lane) because we didn’t play to the standards we have always set.
“Apart from that game, we don’t believe there is anything major wrong.
“We need to defend better and go back to basics.
“We need to grind out a few results.”
Q2. You have Hempenstall, Robinson and McGovern playing together. Do you have to now readjust the formation?
“We played all three against Shaw Lane and it didn’t quite work so we are now looking to do something different.
“We will go back to 4-4-2 and try to be a bit more solid away from home.
“It could be we may not have to be as attacking as we have been to get back to top form.”
Q3. You are out of all the cups so can you now focus on the League?
“It’s been a stop/start sort of season.
“The cups were great but we lost momentum a little bit especially after having three matches called off due to the weather.
“We have to put together a good run in the league sooner rather than later.
“That’s something we believe we can do.”
