Two wins in two evenings by Hartsholme Under 13s and 15s against Bracebridge Heath and Nettleham A respectively provided an encouraging start to the cricket season for the Ashby Avenue youngsters.
Monday evening produced a very tight game after Bracebridge hit 48 for 5 in their 16 overs.
After a wobbly start the Hartsholme youngsters crossed the winning line with a little to spare to set the season running. A great team effort with lots of small but significant contributions bringing home the spoils.
On Tuesday evening the Under U15s took on a very strong Nettleham outfit. The home team batted first and made 62 runs thanks to a superb unbeaten 30 by Clayton Wilkinson which proved to be a great confidence booster for him after the disappointment of last year.
Nettleham were then restricted to a total of 56 thanks to some fine bowling from Pickersgill, Clark, Boothright and Marsh who between them kept their nerve and made the opposition battle hard for each run.
Coach Martin Shillito was delighted with the resilience shown by his team
