I have no idea what type of contract Danny and Nicky Cowley signed last summer when they were appointed the new management duo to bring success to Sincil Bank.
I do know it was a brave and forward-thinking move by the Imps’ Board whose investment in these two young men is starting to pay dividends.
Financially the club is now in a far better shape than it was before Danny and Nick took over.
The prize fund for reaching the Third Round of the FA Cup so far stands at £45,000.
Add to this BT television payments and gate receipts from previous ties and you are looking at another £100,000.
Then there is the gate money from next week’s replay against Ipswich and the potential of further prize money and possibly television rights.
Finally, the Imps have picked up £5,000 from the FA Trophy so far.
You may also add increased revenue through bigger attendances and the increase in season tickets holders.
The investment and faith placed in Danny and Nicky has paid off.
Whatever the situation is with contract extensions or financial terms, let’s give them what they want.
These are two extremely ambitious young men who are in the sights of many a Football League Club.
Let’s keep them.
The present with these two in charge is very bright indeed.
The future could be dazzling.
