Nettleham U18s went down 5-1 to their counterparts from Lincoln Moorlands yesterday.
It was a match the Moors were seeking to avenge the 8-0 drubbing they suffered at the hands of Scott Russell’s men earlier this season.
Poor defending and sloppy play by the Sky Blues made it 4-0 at half-time to Lincoln Moorlands.
Matt Clarke scored a consolation goal via a spot kick but overall the Nettleham outfit looked sluggish after a month without football.
These two teams meet again at the weekend in the Cup and Nettleham boss Scott Russell said his team would have to step up a gear if they were to go through.
