A DAY FOR KEEPERS AT SPALDING

Spalding United’s winning five match run came to an end yesterday when they were held to a goalless draw at home to Kidsgrove Athletic.

Tulips’ on-loan keeper Richard Walton had to be at his athletic best to keep a clean sheet whilst at the other end his opposite number dealt with everything Dave Frecklington’s men could throw at him.

The result means Spalding slip to second in the league behind Shaw Lane on goal difference.

This Tuesday the Tulips travel to Premier League outfit Rushall Olympic in the Second Round of the Integro League Cup.
