SportsLinc caught up with Imps’ striker Matt Rhead today and asked him for his thoughts on Saturday’s big FA Cup match at Ipswich.

Q1. What will be the mind-set of the players on Saturday?

A. “We are confident in what we can do and the systems we play.

“We are confident we can adapt that to any other team.

“It’s very important we go there and give a good account of ourselves, play well, play with confidence and stick to our game plan.”

Q2. Is it possible for a player to raise his game on an occasion like this?

A2. “Yes definitely. We have all been playing at a good standard already but in the FA Cup when you are playing against a better team you can raise your game.

“I think the crowd will help.

“It’s going to be absolutely unbelievable for an away match.

“Obviously we’ve got to do the basics right, compete and fight for every ball.

“We can get the right result.”

Q3. Do you think you will get more time on the ball?

A3. “I hope so!

“Every game is different. We will play our high-pressing game and get a lot of the ball as well.

“Ipswich have good technical players. That’s why it looks like they have more space.

“We have got to try and make them make a mistake.

“We have also got to be good enough to keep the ball when we’ve got it.”
