Lincoln United right back Jordan Lemon was named in the Evo-Stik Division One (South) League team of the year at the players’ award ceremony in Barnsley last night.
After an outstanding season as an attacking full back Lemon received the accolades heaped on him in front of an audience of 350 at the prestigious event.
He told SportsLinc: “It’s a pleasure to represent the club.
“Frecks (boss Dave Frecklington) and his staff have really got something going on this year and we really need to reward them with promotion.
“Our aim is to reach the play-offs so hopefully a win against Rugby Town tomorrow and a defeat by Chasetown against Shaw Lane will mean we can relax a bit on the last game of the season.”
However it seems likely the young Chesterfield born defender will miss the rest of the campaign following ligament damage he received at Romulus on Saturday.
Lemon’s highly consistent performances have been praised by his manager, Dave Frecklington.
He said:”Jordan has been outstanding all season. He is a real live-wire and gives everything he’s got.
“He is an honest lad and really deserves the honour of being voted the league’s best right back of the season.”
