TRACTOR BOYS RIPE FOR THE TAKING

It is fair to say that Ipswich Town are in the doldrums at the moment.

A 2-1 defeat at QPR yesterday leaves the club languishing 15th place in the Championship.

It is also fair to say that Manager Mick McCarthy is not a happy man.

At a press conference yesterday the Ipswich boss was asked if he was frustrated by the result.

He replied: “If frustrated is another word for completely urinated off (we don’t swear on SportsLinc, ha ha) then yes I am.

“We’ve just given two ‘urinated-poor’ ( steady Mick) goals away.

“It gives people a stick to beat me with because we’ve lost but ultimately that’s ‘bull poo’ (apologies).

This all augurs well for Lincoln City.

No need me to remind you ( but I will anyway) that Danny Cowley’s men top the National League and have possibly the best support in the division right behind them.

The proof lies in the fact that nearly 5,000 Imps’¬†fans will be cheering their team on come Saturday.

I can’t see the Ipswich fans getting behind their manager much.

Don’t get me wrong, I like and respect Mick McCarthy but a poor result on Saturday means he may well be on his bike.

Such is the pressure he and his team are under.

And you know what, I think he will be down the Job Centre first thing on Monday morning.
