New Year is a time for us to set targets and make plans for what lies ahead.
The same principle applies to football managers.
We are halfway through the season and now is a good time to take stock and plan for what can be achieved for the rest of the campaign.
SportsLinc caught up with Whites’ boss Big Sam Wilkinson to find out his aims for 2017.
He said: “The target is to reach the play-offs.
“We want to carry on what we are doing but improve slightly.
“We believe we are in a good position to do that.
“Our goal is the play-offs and we will keep fighting to achieve that right up to the end of the season.
“We don’t feel like we are in bad form. We are playing pretty well but just need to improve in the final third by creating more chances and scoring more goals.
“We look at the ‘goals for’ column and know we could be in a better position because of all the chances we do create.
“When you put more balls into the box you ask questions of the opposition.
“We have some ‘flair’ players but we need to improve on that final ball.
“You need to have an end product in football.
” Our game has been brilliant at times this year but we really need to start hurting teams more.
“You always need to strive for more in football.”
ALWAYS LOOK ON THE WHITE SIDE OF LIFE.
