Lincoln United striker last night Jordan Hempenstall scored what could be the goal of the season.
From fully 35 yards out on the touchline he instinctively lobbed the Chasetown keeper to give his team an impressive 2-0 win over seventh-placed Chasetown FC.
Hempenstall’s super strike in the 85th minute followed Matt Cotton’s goal a quarter of an hour earlier.
The win shoots the Whites up to 13th in the table on 26 points and continues their excellent recent run.
Sam Wilkinson’s men have tasted defeat in only one of their last 13 games.
Last night’s performance against an excellent Chasetown outfit was the result of graft, spirit and the combined talents of twin strikers Hempenstall and Cotton.
This Saturday the Ashby Avenue side travel to rock-bottom Rugby.
