RUGBY: LINCOLN HEADING FOR TITLE

Lincoln 1st XV are red-hot favourites to take the Midlands 3 East (North) title after their 34-5 hammering of rock-bottom Ashfield on Saturday.

The Lincoln outfit sit top of the table unbeaten in the league and 13 points ahead of second-place Belper.

Try scorer Jack McGill said: “We were misfiring a bit but it all seems to be there.

“These are the games when you don’t play well but still need to win if you are to go on and win the league.”

This weekend Lincoln travel to Bakewell Mannerians who occupy third place in the table 16 points adrift of the leaders.
