Nettleham FC Under 18s began life at West Common in Lincoln five months ago.
Since that very first training session some players have left, some have returned and some have stayed.
During the last few weeks the squad has settled down and the team are now playing as one unit rather than 11 individuals.
The goal for the youngsters is to progress via the Reserves into the Men’s 1st Team who play in the Lincolnshire League.
The target for the youngsters this season was to finish as high as possible in the League and win one of the cup competitions.
The other aim was to develop young players physically and mentally for the tough challenges of the season ahead.
Manager Scott Russell said: “It was never going to be easy for a scratch team who haven’t played together before.
“You are going to have more downs than ups at the beginning but if you stick with it, believe in what you are doing you gain confidence.
“I fully expect my team to get stronger as the season goes on and the young lads will be in a great position ready to play senior football next season.
“Our ultimate aim is the development of our players.”
