Lincoln United drew 1-1 with AFC Rushden and Diamonds on Saturday in a match where three men were sent off.
SportsLinc caught up with Whites’ boss Sam Wilkinson to get his thoughts on the game.
He said: “We are happy with the point.
“As much as it looks like a dirty game there wasn’t a bad tackle in it.
“The officials spoiled what was a very good game with both sides attacking each other up until the time Jordan Hempenstall was sent off for just challenging for the ball and received a second yellow.
“We started the game very well again and came flying out of the blocks as we have done of late.
“We played with the tempo we asked the lads to play. The only difference at the weekend was that we relaxed in possession more in the final third and created half-chances and three very good chances we should have scored from.
“Rushden played like they were away from home and were very dangerous on the counter attack.
“We had to defend really well like we did on Tuesday against Stamford.
“Rushden finished the half slightly stronger but it was then our turn to counter them and we should have scored just before the break.
“However we went in happy with our performance.
“After the break it was backs to the walls. We couldn’t get hold of the ball and keep it after we went down to 10 men but we defended our box very well limiting them to shots outside the area.
“We weathered the storm and came back even stronger when the ref evened it up by sending off one of their players.
“We had a couple of chances to win it but didn’t hit the target.
“They then went down to nine men so we threw another man forward and had a chance in the last minute to grab all three points but it wasn’t to be.
“Another very good team performance that keeps the unbeaten run going.”
