Shaw Lane are out of the FA Trophy for breaching the rules regarding player eligibility.
Nantwich Town have been reinstated into the competition and will now play Lincoln City at home.
This is where it starts getting complicated.
The match is due to be played on Tuesday 13th December only four days before the Imps’ table-topping clash against Tranmere Rovers.
But hold on. Shaw lane have a right to appeal and can do so right up until 10.00am on Monday 12th December.
Where does that leave things?
Supporters have to make arrangements at the last minute. Managers have to alter plans.
It’s all a bit of a farce really.
Can the match between Nantwich and Lincoln City not be played in the New Year?
It would make more sense, surely.
