HOCKEY: MAGNIFICENT WIN BY 1ST TEAM

Men’s First Team

Lindum 1sts continued their recent good form with a 5-3 win at Alderley Edge 2 in the NHML Division One.

The Lincoln outfit went behind within 10 minutes but soon equalised through George Johnstone.

The hosts took the lead just before the break and added a dubious third 10 minutes from time.

At 3-1 down it looked curtains for the visitors but a great fight back with goals from Rob Johnstone  (2), skipper Sam Temple-Baxter and Ben Treadgold secured all the points for Lindum.

The victory was fully deserved especially as only 12 players could make the journey to the north west.

The 1sts are in action again on Saturday when they host Neston South Wirral looking to avenge their 5-3 defeat from earlier in the season.

Ladies’ First Team

The Ladies continued their excellent form of late when they beat St. Ives 2-1 thanks to two goals from Angie Green.

It was an excellent performance to complete their 2016 fixtures.

The Lindum Ladies are next in league action against fourth-placed Harleston next month.
