LINCOLN 10K HITS THE ROAD ON SUNDAY

Around 5,000 runners will pound the streets of uphill Lincoln on Sunday in the 20th running of the Asda Foundation City of Lincoln 10k which has grown into one of the region’s biggest road races and which raises over £120,000 for charity.

The mainly flat route takes in some of Lincoln’s historic sites including the Castle and the Cathedral.

The festival of running gets underway on Saturday with the Mini and Junior runs which are free to enter and suitable for youngsters aged between three and 15 years.

Many of those taking part in Sunday’s big race will be raising funds for charities including St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice, MacMillan Cancer Support and the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance.
