SportsLinc caught up with Imps’ boss Danny Cowley the other day and asked him what it’s like at an away game with the travelling Lincoln City fans in full voice.

He said: “The away support has been amazing all season.

“The scheduling for today’s game at Forest Green Rovers hasn’t helped and a lot of fans I’ve spoken to are setting off at six or seven o’clock.

“We respect the fact that fans can watch the game on television but at the same time it’s great if they can get there.

“It makes a huge difference to us and the players to have our supporters making more noise than the home fans.

“We have a magnificent following which allows us to be really confident.

“As a football club unity is our strength.”
