Q. Danny, what sort of team talk will you be giving to the players prior to the Forest Green Rovers game? Will you focus on your own strengths rather than those of the opposition?
A. It’s about finding a balance. You have to respect and be aware of your opponents’ strengths.
“If you are going to go to war you need to know what ammunition and tanks the enemy has got.
“Likewise you also want to be aware of your opponents’ strengths but you also need to know where their weaknesses lie.
“We always analyse the opposition technically, tactically, physically and mentally and we look at them across these four facets.
“At the same time it’s about us and our game plan and the quality and profiles of our players.
“It’s all about how we can use our strengths to win a game of football. We always try to get on the right side of a result.
“We keep looking at the facts. We are 10 games unbeaten and the outcome has been good.
“We are very positive about the character and substance we showed within the latter stages of the Aldershot game.
“Lesser characters and a lesser group would have lost that game.
“We found a way to get a positive result and I think we did it on personality alone.
“We’ve got a group who take ownership and responsibility.
“That’s the environment we are trying to create.”
