SportsLinc caught up with Imps’ skipper Luke Waterfall last week and asked him about his role as captain of the team.
He said: “I was happy to do the job when I was asked a couple of months ago.
“It’s a big opportunity for me. I’m only 26 . It’s a big privilege for me.
“I look forward to it every game.
“I try to lead by my performances. I like to think I have been pretty consistent this season overall.
“I’m a fairly decent talker on the pitch as well and hopefully that’s what the Gaffer saw in me to give me the armband.
“The lads have been brilliant and that certainly helps.
“As role models I like to think that if there are any young lads watching us what better example could we set than being second in the League and in the second round of the FA Cup.
“I don’t think we could set a better example really.”
