WHITES MARCH ON AFTER DESTROYING NEWCASTLE TOWN

Lincoln United made it two wins on the bounce when they hammered Newcastle Town 4-0 to maintain their place in the play-offs in the Evo-Stik Division One (South) League.

The Whites sit fifth in the table three points clear of nearest rivals Chasetown who salvaged a point at Spalding yesterday.

With only three games remaining the Ashby Avenue outfit still have to host Rugby Town and Chasetown in the last two matches of the season in addition to travelling to Romulus FC next Saturday.

Dave Frecklington’s men saw off mid-table Newcastle Town with goals from Wright, Norris, Cotton and McGovern and thus heap more pressure on those teams aiming to overtake them.
