Lincoln United drew their second successive match on Saturday this time against Carlton Town.
This is what Whites’ boss Sam Wilkinson had to say about the game.
“It was a very tough game in bad conditions with the wind having a major impact on the game.
“It was all about rolling our sleeves up and digging in.
“We didn’t do that well enough in the first half and they were slightly the better side..
“They scored when we had our best spell of the first half and I thought we were just getting to grips with the conditions and the way they played.
“They went 1-0 up and finished the better side in the first half.
“It was hard to get out against the wind but when we did get the ball down we played some decent stuff and created a few chances.
“We started the second half really well and we were on top for large spells after the break.
“We had more desire, tempo and intent and deserved our goal.
“We huffed and puffed after that and didn’t create enough to win the game.
“We had a goal disallowed which looked onside but overall a draw was a fair result.
“It was a game where we wanted more but we are unbeaten in our last four games so we have got to take positives out of it.
“It also proves how strong the league is because Carlton are a good, hard-working side and at home they have already beaten some good sides and they will continue to take points off teams.
“We need to do better and we know that and although our league form hasn’t been great we have only lost five games in 20 competitive league and cup matches.
“We will stay positive and try to improve.
“I am confident we will do that.”
ALWAYS LOOK ON THE WHITE SIDE OF LIFE.
