SECOND AWAY WIN ON THE SPIN FOR SPALDING UNITED

Spalding United gained three valuable points at Romulus FC on Saturday to pile more pressure on league leaders Shaw Lane.

The Tulips sit second in the table one point off the top spot with a game in hand.

Saturday’s win gave Dave Frecklington’s men their second successive victory on the road following last Tuesday’s annihilation of Sheffield.

Goals from Cenk Acar and star man Bradley Wells secured the points for Spalding.

Boss Frecklington said: “We totally dominated the game from start to finish.

“The lads set high standards last week at Sheffield and although we did enough to win again, the performance wasn’t great.

“However two away wins are huge after back-to-back defeats.”

Spalding host mid-table AFC Rushden and Diamonds tomorrow evening kick off 7.45pm.
