A new initiative is being launched by Lincolnshire U18s FA coach Scott Russell aimed at forming an U18 football team in Nettleham in time for the start of next season.

Russell said: “The team will consist of players who WANT to play for Nettleham, want to enjoy their football again and know my coaching ethos.

“I would like Nettleham U18 players to have a pathway which would lead to a chance to play in the !st team and then on to the Midlands League.

“The new team will have to play football the ‘right way’ by passing and keeping the ball on the deck, no long ball game and technically correct.

“Most importantly we want players to enjoy their football again.”

Russell has a five year plan which includes a new men’s reserve team along with U21s, U17s and a ladies reserve squad.

Tune into Sirenfm107.3 or every Saturday betweem 3-5pm and listen to ‘Mix and Match’ when Peter Hayward will be chatting to Scott and Tim Smith about this exciting new development for football in Nettleham
