Yesterday’s cross country event at South Elkington turned into a mud bath after an early torrential downpour.
Yet mother and daughter riding team of Wendy Dunham and Amy Wright battled through the rain to gain fourth place in the pairings.
They each had clear rounds on their horses Cruise and Jasmine.
Wendy said: “The heavens opened. We would have liked to have stayed for the bigger events later on but everything was soaking.
“In the end we decided to load the horses back into the truck and go home.”
The pair are next in action at the Osberton Hunter Trials Cross Country event at the weekend.
