It’s a massive weekend for Lincoln football.
The Imps and Whites are striving to reach the First Round of the world’s most famous cup competition.
SportsLinc caught up with Lincoln United boss Big Sam Wilkinson to get his thoughts on his side’s tie against higher-league Spennymoor Town.
He said: “Saturday is a huge game for everyone at the club.
“We are one game away from a dream tie.
“It’s going to take something special to get there but I believe this squad has the personality and character to do it.
“We’ve had Spennymoor watched and had another report on them so we know what to expect.
“I believe my players are ready for this.
“We are in great form.
“I know every player in the squad will give it everything they’ve got.
“These opportunities don’t come round very often .
“We have got to take the game to them and try and make it into a real cup tie.
“We should have nearly a fully fit squad to pick from.
“James Blunden is getting back to fitness and we’re hoping Kallum Smith gets through his fitness test.
“We will just be missing our long term injured players in Gio Carchedi, Ben Fairclough and Chris Hall.
“It would be so good if we could do it on Saturday not just for the players and management but for everyone at the club who work their socks off to make our job easier so we just have to concentrate on the football.”
