FA TROPHY: THE THOUGHTS OF BIG SAM

Lincoln United are doing rather well this season in cup competitions.

That must be the biggest undertstatement ever madeĀ in the footballing world!

Finalists in the FA Lincolnshire Senior Cup in two weeks’ time, playing in the fourth round qualifying of the Emirates FA Cup next Saturday and tomorrow hosting Romulus in the FA Trophy.

In addition why not add they are on a six-match winning streak in all competitions?

SportsLinc caught up with boss Sam Wilkinson ahead of tomorrow’s cup fixture.

He said: “Tomorrow’s game is going to be very tough as Romulus work as hard as any team in the League.

“They look to play the balls in the channels and turn you at every opportunity so we’ve got to be ready for that.

“Also we owe them from our last game againstĀ them because we weren’t at our best that day.

“But we’re a different team now and full of confidence.

“However we must make sure we don’t get complacent and comfortable.

“Nothing has been achieved yet.

“We also want to keep the momentum going for next week’s game.

” We’ve got a couple of injury doubts for tomorrow.

“Kallum Smith rolled his ankle in training and Tom Maddison took a knock last week so it could give people opportunities to take their chance.

“The squad is very strong and they are all fighting to get into the starting eleven.

“They are a good bunch and they all want the same thing and that is to win football matches.

“We’ve got to focus on tomorrow’s game and try to progress in the FA Trophy as well.

“Hopefully we can do that.”

ALWAYS LOOK ON THE WHITE SIDE OF LIFE.
