Spalding United remain top of the Evo-Stik Division One (South) League despite dropping two points in yesterday’s 1-1 draw at Chasetown .

The Tulips remain unbeaten this season after 10 games and are two points ahead of second-place Shaw Lane with a game in hand.

SportsLinc caught up with Spalding boss Dave Frecklington to get his views on yesterday’s game.

He said: “I am delighted with the point. It was a really tough game.

“We would have settled for a point before the game.

“It’s the first time a team has stopped us scoring two or more goals so credit to Chasetown for that.

“We also found out that we were named ‘Team of the Month’ for August and September.

“People forget we only had four players when we took over.

“All credit goes to the players.

“They have been a different class over the course of the season so far.”
