Nettleham Under 18s were hoping to avenge the 5-2 defeat they suffered at the hands of Sibsey Youth earlier in the season but once again turned out to be the losing side at home on Sunday going down 3-1 to the visitors.
The Sky Blues’ goal was scored by defender-turned-striker Callum Gray.
Manager Scott Russell said: “We played good football and I believe we were the better team for 80 minutes.
“However we were caught out by one long ball in the first half and two mistakes from our keeper late in the second half which cost us.”
The defeat means the Nettleham outfit are still without a win after three games.
This Sunday they travel to Grimsby Borough in the cup in what will be another tough encounter.
