Tiger Woods has been out of the game for a considerable time with a back injury.
He has been missed.
More important to Tiger though is the fact he is misses golf more than anything else.
Despite his millions he is never happy unless he is competing in one of the Majors or the American Tour.
Injury has also hit Lincoln golfer, Sam Robinson for most of this season.
As a result his means of earning a living has all but dried up.
What’s more Sam will have to wait for the New Year before he can re-start his professional career.
Sam told SportsLinc: “Golf is performance-based so if you’re not playing or performing you’re not getting paid.
“You need to find another way of earning money which I have done by working in a golf shop.
“I am 10 days away from starting putting and a few more weeks away from pitching, chipping and hitting long balls.
“I am aiming to play one-day winter events in November and December and look to get back into competition by February or March.”
Sam is a very determined young man who will fight his way back up the golf ladder.
Everyone a SportsLinc wishes him a speedy return to full fitness.
You can hear the full interview I had with Sam on Saturday’s Mix and Match at 3pm on Siren 107.3 FM and sirenonline.co.uk.
